Ok... so Robert Sylvester Kelly GOT OFF in more ways than one... NOT GUILTY on ALL FOURTEEN COUNTS!?!?!?!?
First of all, can we talk about how there were NO, I repeat, NO statutory rape charges filed against him? What the heck is THAT about? I don't even want to go into detail about that one. Anyone who saw the tape (I admit I did not see it because I didn't want to take part in child porn voyeurism - not at all judging anyone who did see it) could tell you that there was definitely sexual intercourse with a minor which in turn makes it statutory rape. Yet, no rape charges... WHAT?!?!?!?!?
Now, I can admit to jamming to R.Kelly songs back in the day. But you have got to admit, even if only to yourself, that the topic of his songs has not changed in the 16 years he's been in the game. Take away a "I Believe I Can Fly" and a "U Saved Me" and all you have is 23,543,478 different versions of "Sex Me" and "Feelin' on Yo' Booty". Did we forget that this "lyrical genius" has had a penchant for little girls all the way back when Aaliyah, God bless her soul, was 15 and they exchanged nuptials? The thing that upsets me the most is that there are so many people that have condoned his behavior. I can't for the life of me begin to understand how there were so many people that wanted to see this man get off! These are the same folks that have seen the tapes and know for a fact that the person engaging in intercourse with a minor was "The R" himself. I just ask these folks one thing... What if that was your daughter? Would you be wishing, praying, and hoping for him to get off then? Is this all so that you can bop your head and tap your feet to the latest hot hit that speaks of nothing but lewd acts? And now, one can only wonder if he was writing those songs with under-aged females in mind. YUCK!
R. Kelly has made some questionable statements to the press in recent years. In 2003, he compared his legal troubles to Osama Bin Laden in an interview with Blender saying to the magazine, "Bin Laden is the only one who knows exactly what I'm going through". Look folks, this the same man who was once quoted saying, "I'm the Ali of today. I'm the Marvin Gaye of today. I'm the Bob Marley of today. I'm the Martin Luther King, or all the other greats that have come before us. And a lot of people are starting to realize that now." Say what now? How dare "Kells" lump himself into a group with MLK, Jr.?
He needs Jesus, FOR REAL now. And I'm not talking about putting out an album claiming that he's found God and that he's been forgiven of all his shortcomings and mishaps. People like "The Pied Piper" make it bad for Christians who are really sold out for Christ. What message is he sending to those who don't know Christ? That it's OK to mess up, write a song about it, and all your sins have been forgiven and thrown into the sea of forgetfulness? It doesn't work like that when you go back and continue to commit the same sin again and again. True repentance is when you confess your sin and really make a true and valiant effort, with God's help, to overcome that obstacle. Yes, God is an awesome God whose grace and mercy endures forever. But He is also a God of judgment, the part of Him that many people don't like to or want to acknowledge. And because I do know that part of God, I know in my Spirit that this is not over. God is the ultimate judge and He WILL have the last word. I certainly do hope for his sake, that Robert Sylvester Kelly was NOT the man on those tapes.

Tell 'em why you mad son!!!
For real though. This is his 4th set of charges! 4th set!!
Yeah.. He is really digusting. I refuse to lean or rock to any of his so called hits knowing that his inspiration is a pre-pubescent girl.
RIGHT!!! And I have a theory that his fantasies don't just stop at little girls... Once you do something like this several times, the sky's your limit. YUCK...
